It is the mission of the Greenwich Police Department to safeguard the lives and property of the people we serve, to reduce the incidence and fear of crime, and to enhance public safety while working with the diverse communities to improve their quality of life. Our mandate is to do so with honor and integrity, while at all times conducting ourselves with the highest ethical standards to maintain public confidence.

These are not just words for us. They represent the values we believe in. They are the core of our entire operation. As leaders of the community we will perform our duties with the utmost fairness and respect for all citizens. We will be loyal to our mission and to the community we serve.
 
We will protect and defend the rights of all citizens with dignity, honor, and compassion. We will have the courage to do what is right and to stand against what is wrong, while always applying common sense to the difficult decisions we must make.
